ROLE SUMMARY:

The Employment Support Specialist will play a vital role in empowering adults with disabilities to achieve their full potential in the workplace. They ensure employment is a success for each employee by creating an individualized path to success and achievement. The Employment Support Specialist will work with a team to fulfill all aspects of the department. They must be passionate and able to thrive in an evolving atmosphere.


A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN EMPLOYMENT SUPPORT SPECIALIST CAN LOOK LIKE:

  • Unlocking Potential: Assessing the strengths, vocational choices, needs, and skill development of each employee.
  • Hands-On Coaching: Spending approximately 60% of your workday on the production floor, providing guidance and encouragement to employees as they work towards their goals.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborating with multiple departments and participating in morale-boosting programs and events to foster a supportive workplace.
  • Individualized Goal Setting: Developing personalized goals, documenting progress, and creating annual evaluation summaries for each employee.
  • A Diverse Case Load: Supporting a case load of approximately 65 employees, making a meaningful impact in their lives.
  • Detailed Documentation: Ensuring all required documentation is meticulously maintained to meet our high standards.
  • Resourceful Support: Referring employees to the appropriate service agencies to provide essential assistance.
  • Proactive Problem Solving: Positively responding to and providing appropriate intervention in challenging situations as they arise.
  • Safety First: Ensuring all safety requirements are met, including conducting safety trainings.
  • An Adaptive Environment: Creating adaptability on the work floor to ensure the success of each employee.
  • Effective Communication: Maintaining open and effective communication with employees, families, guardians, and service providers.


EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or GED required. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Education or related field preferred. 
  • A minimum 2 years of experience working with individuals with disabilities. 
  • Experience with CARF accreditation is preferred. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 


LOCATION: St. Peters, Missouri
STATUS: Full Time
SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday 7:00am - 3:30pm
